App store ratings and reviews from users have become the most influential factor in app discovery and conversion, above and beyond traditional app marketing strategies. That’s why Median created the App Review native plugin, designed to help you establish strong social proof for your native app.
With this plugin, you can prompt your users to leave ratings and reviews on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The plugin provides options to determine when these prompts appear, encouraging higher ratings and a greater number of reviews. The benefits for you are twofold: first, your app will rank higher in its respective category within the app stores. Secondly, positive ratings and reviews can effectively convert users who browse your app store listing into actual app users.
Integrating the plugin into your native app is a seamless process that eliminates the need for lengthy development phases. You simply configure the plugin with your App Store listing ID and utilize Median JavaScript Bridge commands to access its functionality.
If you're looking to add more app store ratings and reviews, our App Review native plugin is the ideal solution. Add it to your app and watch start boosting your app's profile and reputation today.

Yes. The App Review plugin offers customization options, allowing you to tailor the appearance of prompts for ratings and reviews to align with your app's branding and user experience.

Absolutely! The App Review plugin is compatible with both iOS and Android apps for the Apple App Store and Google Play.
The plugin has no limitations on the number of prompt requests you can make. However, the Apple App Store controls the actual display of this alert, so it may not show for some cases. This is to prevent frequent rating prompts which can be a deterrent for users. You can learn more about this in Apple's Documentation.
Google Play enforces a time-bound quota on how often a user can be shown the review dialog. Because of this quota, requesting display of the dialog more than once during a short period of time (for example, less than a month) might not always display a dialog. Because the quota is subject to change, it's important to apply your own logic and target the best possible moment to request a review.
Unfortunately, Apple and Google do not return any result from the app review prompt. This is intended to ensure that app reviews are genuine and not a direct result of users being offered an incentive or reward within the app. You can, however, make use of the App Store Connect and Google Play portals to access analytics and reporting on reviews and ratings.
Apple provides the ability to reset your app’s summary rating in the App Store upon release of a new app update. Google Play does not provide any options for resetting your app’s rating but newer ratings are weighted higher than older ratings.
It is not possible to delete app reviews in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. As with ratings, as you respond to user feedback and improve your app over time, you will see your app rating continually improve and positive reviews left by your users! With the Median App Review plugin, you can time the display of the app review prompt at the perfect moment for users — right after being delighted by a new feature.
